Saving Clients Money Every Day

Posted by James Aberley on 2nd February 2012 14:46

With an existing website already online MJD Paving contacted us after some information about website running costs and charges to find out that their current website provider was overcharging. After viewing the site and discussing functionality, hosting packages and domain name registration it was decided that they were actually paying more than they needed to every single year. The next step was simple; let’s build a new, modern and Search Engine friendly website for less than their existing yearly hosting charge. The website, due for launch in mid-February, will refresh the company image as well as save them over £400 a year hosting charges. ...

New Business Startups Free advice meetings for all new businesses

Posted by James Aberley on 13th March 2011 16:24

It's interesting how many new businesses come to see us each week. One thing that I would say is true in at least 90% of cases however is that many ideas are not entirely thought through. This got me wondering is it because of the demise of the business link support network? 2 years ago we had a lot of customers come to us with business link new business grants or advisors pushing them to work with a marketing company. We ourselves used these resources a number of times in the early days to develop our ideas and business plans....

ISO Paper Sizes

Posted by Richard Latham on 24th November 2010 11:42

In the ISO paper size system, the height-to-width ratio of all pages is the square root of two (1.4142 : 1). In other words, the width and the height of a page relate to each other like the side and the diagonal of a square. This aspect ratio is especially convenient for a paper size. If you put two such pages next to each other, or equivalently cut one parallel to its shorter side into two equal pieces, then the resulting page will have again the same width/height ratio....

Who is really happy with their CRM system

Posted by James Aberley on 12th November 2010 11:44

I've lost count of how many customers ask us to develop back end admin systems for their websites, but so many don't realise that what they really are asking for is a bespoke CRM system just by another name. It does highlight how the standard off the shelf solutions are so typically unsuitable for the majority of small businesses, that creating bespoke management functions could be the only way to go!...

Why Starting an ECommerce website isnt quite that simple

Posted by James Aberley on 10th November 2010 15:26

E-commerce can be an effective way for you to attract new customers and cut your cost of sale. If you are a retailer, you can sell through an e-commerce store without the costs of premises and sales staff. A single e-commerce website can serve your entire target market, and even if your customers sometimes need face-to-face meetings, it enables them to make repeat purchases online....
